I feel that I work ...I'm kind of the opposite. I feel that I work best when it's late at night, but for many of the same reasons you mentioned - it's quiet, no one else it up, and there are fewer distractions. When I'm just a little tired I tend to focus better, too, because I can only think about one things at a time (writing), instead of getting distracted by everything on the Internet.
